Golden Rule Fundraising Secret #6

So why should you (put the odds in your favor)?!

All fundraising programs have the potential to succeed.  Whether in practice they actually succeed depends on how well they work - for your donors, for your volunteers and for you (the fundraising director).  My experience is that when a fundraiser is a win-win-win for everyone, it's more likely to succeed!

Fundraising is hard enough.  So, put the odds in your favor!   Don't just use the same old fundraiser - because it's the one you (and/or your predessors) have always used.  Instead, use what you've learned here to analyze the different fundraising programs you might choose from - including the one you've always used.   Then, narrow down your choices to ones that seem to follow the Golden Rule best and choose the one you feel should work best for your donors, your volunteers and you!

When you follow the Golden Rule, you will enjoy a much greater opportunity of being more successful!

Don't let your past experiences cloud your judgment: don't be afraid to try something new!  If you've done "OK" with other fund raisers that don't necessarily follow the Golden Rule, you should be able to do even better using a fund raising program that does!
