Secret #1: The Golden Rule
(All other secrets come from this one!)
Put yourself in the position of those you'll be asking to help you
in your fund raiser - your donors, your volunteers and yourself - and remember, "Do unto others ....."!
That's all you'll need to understand how to apply these secrets to fundraising success that unfold
from the Golden Rule!
Secret #2: Your Donor
The Golden Rule's key to success in fundraising is to help people
more than you're asking them to help you: If you
offer your prospective donors something with a lot more value than the
donation you're asking them for, they'll be a lot more likely to give you that
donation.
(How do you do that? Be patient; in just a moment you'll find out!)
Secret #3: Your Appeal
The more people your fundraiser's product appeals to ..... the more
money you can raise ..... the more successful your fundraiser can be.
Seems obvious, right? Then why in the world .....

Secret #4: Your Volunteers
Ever had problems getting people to volunteer for (previous) fund raisers -
let alone participate in them wholeheartedly?
Fund raisers are made - and broken - by ..... (click

Secret #5: Smart, Passive & Residual
Q: What is better than working hard and raising money?
A: Working smart and raising more money - passively!
Q: How can you raise money passively,
without running another fund raiser?
A: (click to find out!)
Secret #6: Put the Odds in Your Favor!
Do you need to follow the Golden Rule
in order to really succeed in fundraising?
The simple - and honest - answer is, "No".
So, why should you?! (click to find out!)
Secret #7: Due Diligence
You should learn what you can about the company behind the fundraising program you're considering:
-
How long has it been in the fundraising business?
-
What's its reputation? (You might want to check with the Better Business Bureau.)
-
What does its program say about its values; does it share your values? For
instance, does it require your group's children to participate in order to succeed? Does it believe
in helping others (the donors) or does it just impose on them for money?
-
And speaking of money ..... (click to continue)

PS Over the years, I've come across several fundraising programs that
(more or less) follow these "Golden Rule" principles of fundraising. You might find a few if you search
for them on the Internet or look for them in various magazines, or perhaps you'll hear about them by word-of-
mouth. It almost doesn't matter which one you choose; you should be able to do better with any of these
programs than with a "typical" fund raiser. I simply chose the one that I personally thought - and still
think - best represents "Golden-Rule" fundraising.
PPS Just remember:
To succeed in fundraising, as in life, try to help people (donors) more than you ask
them to help you!
